International Transport-Logistics Corridor: Development Impulses from Zangilan

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS & PAPERS
The International conference entitled "International Transport-Logistics Corridor: Development Impulses from Zangilan" will be held on November 16-17, 2023. Organizers – the office of the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts (the East Zangezur economic region), the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Republic, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Republic and Institute of Economics under the Ministry of Science and Education.
The organizing committee of the international event invites scientists, experts, researchers, representatives of international organizations engaged in training and capacity building, as well as civil society organizations and the private sector to participate in the conference.
For participation, applicants from around the world can submit their scientific and policy papers.Initially, authors should submit the abstracts of their contributions. The selected authors will be requested to submit the full versions of their papers, later on.
The contributions may cover various topics in key areas such as Customs, international trade, logistics, supply chain, international transport corridors (such as the Middle Corridor), establishment of innovative Customs service models along those routes, as well as the Customs and trade supply chain security in the for trade and logistics.In their contributions, authors should address such issues such as the role of customs services, trade, logistics, transport and other operators, infrastructure, strategies, policies of their countries in regional, interregional and international trade facilitation, supply chain management, security and stability.
Thematic areas and topics
Diverse thematic areas of the international conference include, but are not limited to, the following themes and topics:
Reforms and regulatory measures supporting efficient trade (e.g., trade facilitation) along the transport corridors
Facilitation of cross-border trade procedures along the transport corridors
Digital Technologies and Customs along the transport corridors
Security and potential risks along the transport corridors
The participants also have a possibility link their Customs-related submissions also to trade, transport and logistics and supply chain.
Format for the contributions
The materials that the applicants will present in full version can be in the following formats, but each of them should also put forward practical examples and various innovative solutions and recommendations in the field they belong to:
- Scientific articles
- Policy papers

The scientific articles and policy papers may not exceed 4000 words (including the references). Policy papers must consist of the following sections: executive summary, introduction, methodology, literature review, policy options/context, findings/evidence analysis, recommendations, conclusion, appendices (if any).
Abstract and materials submission dates
The deadline for submitting abstracts is 05 October 2023.
Abstracts should not exceed 300 words and should be submitted via the online registration form at the following website: https://form.jotform.com).
These abstracts can be related with: 1) scientific articles; 2) policy papers.
Authors are requested to attach their CVs (1 page only) in addition to their abstracts, on the registration form page. The results of the accepted abstracts will be communicated to the applicants by 15 October 2023 by the conference organizers.
Authors, whose abstracts have been selected will be requested to submit their full contributions either before or after the conference.
Event structure and format
The conference will take place on November 16th at the Zangilan Congress Center (Zangilan) and on November 17th at the Baku Marriott Boulevard Hotel (Baku), depending on the evolution of the global health situation. To participate in the conference, applicants must first submit summaries of their materials (abstract).
The selected participants, depending on the thematic focus of their papers, will be informed on their inclusion in the respective thematic clusters and panels of the conference.
The accepted papers will be published in a book.
Conference attendance costs
For selected participants, the costs of attending the conference will be covered by the conference organizers in varying degrees (in full or in part). The necessary information will be duly conveyed to the selected participants.
Language
The working languages of the conference are Azerbaijani and English and Russian. (a simultaneous interpretation will be provided).
