United Nations Global Compact

Among the higher education institutions of Azerbaijan, as well as among the national Customs training institutes and Regional Training Centers of the World Customs Organization (WCO), the ASCCA is currently the first and only party to the UNGC. This non-business membership aims at leveraging the role of the academia in Azerbaijan, as well as the Customs education and training, in supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is line with the relevant WCO blueprints. As a confirmation of the its continuous commitment to sustainability, the WCO has determined the following as the theme for the year 2021:"Customs Bolstering Recovery, Renewal and Resilience for a Sustainable Supply Chain". The ASCCA supports a select number of the UNGC Ten Principles, in order to foster the sustainable development and sustainability through both the academic initiatives, as well as through enhancing the sustainability knowledge and skills in the Customs sector of Azerbaijan. In order to do so, specific themes will be incorporated into the organizational processes, curricula and training programs of the ASCCA. As a member of the UNGC Local Network in Azerbaijan, the Academy aims to arrange several education and traininig initiatives in the years 2020-2023.
