ASCCA meets Counter Narcotics Training Academy of Turkiye

Representatives of the Training Academy for Combating Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs (NEA), operating under the General Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye visited the Academy of the State Customs Committee.

The meeting was attended by Polatkan Akdag, the head of the Training Academy for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking, Ufuk Atesh, the deputy director of the Security Directorate of Mersin province, Merve Hilal Yıldız, the inspector of the Canine Training Center under the Anti-Narcotics Department, Mirhasan Seyidzadeh, Head of the Department of Cooperation with Projects and Organizations of State Customs Committee, Haji Hajiyev, Law Enforcement Executive Officer of the European Regional Office for Capacity Building of the WCO and the executives and employees of the Academy.

The head of the academy, Gulu Novruzov, greeted the guests and expressed his pleasure to see them in the Academy. Novruzov spoke about the sincere friendship and fraternal ties between Azerbaijan and Turkiye. He informed about the activities of the Academy as a customs training institution and, at the same time, as a Regional Training Center of the World Customs Organization.

Polatkan Akdag, the head of NEA, expressed his satisfaction to be at the Academy of the State Customs Committee, and informed about the Training Academy and emphasized the possibility of exchanging experience with the Academy in various directions, and  implementation of joint projects.

Later, a presentation was shown on the activities of the Academy, achievements and priorities in the field of international cooperation, foreign higher education institutions and customs training structures, relations and projects with other international institutions.

The discussions were held on areas of mutual interest. In the end, the guests got acquainted with the conditions in the Academy.
