ASCCA holds training on the fight against drug addiction
The Academy of the State Customs Committee has organized a training session on 'Psychotropic substances, new types of synthetic drugs, hallucinogens and precursors'. The training was held by the relevant order of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and attended by Ismayil Efendiyev, deputy head of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee, Irada Ramazanova, a doctor-psychiatrist of the Central Customs Hospital, Shahla Mirzazade, a specialist of the Scientific-Experimental and Training Center of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee, Academy staff and students.
Greeting the participants of the training, the head of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, the major general of the customs service, Gulu Novruzov, made a speech about the importance of the event held to introduce narcotics and psychotropic substances to the customs officers, to enlighten them and increase their professional competencies. Characterizing drug addiction as a painful problem of modern times, G. Novruzov emphasized that the training would be invaluable for the participants.
Then, the Deputy head of the Medical Service Department Ismayil Efendiyev and the doctor-psychiatrist of the Central Customs Hospital Irada Ramazanova made presentations on 'Narcotics and psychotropic substances: the global challenge of the modern world' and 'Problems caused by psychotropic drugs in the modern era'.
The informative training session was followed by a Q&A session and the audience’s questions were responded to.
