The first meeting of the Committee on Scientific Affairs was held within the framework of Erasmus+ project "Establishment of the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan" (ECAR), funded by the European Commission and coordinated by Baku Business University.The online meeting was organized by Baku Business University, the coordinator of the project.

Araz Aslanli, deputy head of the Academy of State Customs Committee for Education and Innovation, attended the meeting, along with representatives of other partner higher education institutions.

Initially, the partners got acquainted with the committee members . The main topics of the meeting were strategic development issues,  functions of the committee, requirements for candidacy for the chairman of the committee, rules for selecting the board and chairman.

 Araz Aslanli, deputy head of the Academy of State Customs Committee for Education and Innovation, was elected chairman of the board with 85.7% of the votes among the two candidates.

Then a vote was held for the position of vice-chairman. According to the results of the voting, vice-rector for educational affairs of Azerbaijan University of Languages, doctor of Philological sciences, professor Sevinj Zeynalova and head of Quality Assurance Department of Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management Faina Gachabeyova were elected vice-chairmen.

It should be noted that within the framework of ECAR project, the activities of a total of 5 committees are planned, including the committees on Internationalization, Educational Affairs and Quality Assurance, Scientific Affairs, Strategic Development, and Work with students and graduates.
