The  Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted an international scientific-practical conference on the topic "Actual problems of ensuring human rights in the modern era" dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The conference was aimed at developing scientific creative activity and mutual relations.

The conference was attended by  the representatives of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as a number of state institutions and higher education institutions , the executives and employees of the Academy of the State Customs Committee. Representatives of the educational institutions of the Republic of Turkiye, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan  participated in the conference in an online format.

First, the participants of the conference laid flowers in front of the monument of the great leader at the Academy. Later, a minute of silence was observed to honor the memories of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sounded.

The opening speech was delivered by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Police Lieutenant General  Ismat Aliyev.He  noted that human rights and freedom is of great importance in the activities of internal affairs bodies.

 Following the event, the head of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, Major General of the Customs Service, Gulu Novruzov, made a speech and wished success to the work of conference.

 After the break, local and foreign participants presented on "International and constitutional aspects of effective investigation", "International norms and principles regulating the activities of national human rights institutions", "Positive impact of mediation reforms in Azerbaijan on the protection of human rights" and other topics.

At the end of the conference, the Declaration was announced,  and the participants were presented with the conference materials, "Human Rights" textbook, certificates and gifts.
