Representatives of the Lithuanian company “INTA” visited the Academy of the State Customs Committee as part of a visit to the Azerbaijani-Lithuanian Business Forum

Representatives of the Lithuanian company “INTA” visited ASCCA as part of a visit to the Azerbaijani-Lithuanian business forum.

The meeting, organized at the Academy of the State Customs Committee to expand bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, was held with the participation of  the leadership and staff of the State Customs Committee and the Academy, as well as representatives of “INTA” CJSC .

Welcoming the guests, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Major General of the Customs Service Igbal Babayev spoke about the fruitful, business relations and prospects between the customs authorities of  two countries. He expressed confidence that the meeting would contribute to cooperation in the field of customs training and research, and further strengthening of mutual relations between   the two countries.

In his turn, Vitautas Vitkausas, General Director of “INTA”, thanked for the warm welcome and gave detailed information about the activities of the company he represents. Speaking about the strategic goals of the company he heads, the director noted  that they give special importance to cooperation with the Academy in this direction.

Following the event, Deputy Head of the Academy, Lieutenant-Colonel of the Customs Service Jamila Namazova spoke about the activities of the Academy, the educational process, Bachelor's and Master's degree in related specialities, and stressed the importance of establishing and developing bilateral academic cooperation in the field of customs.

Later on, Elvin Majidov, Coordinator for International Cooperation of ASCCA , made an extensive presentation  on the activities of the Academy, achievements and priorities in the field of international cooperation, foreign higher education institutions and customs training structures, relations and projects with other international organizations, in particular,  training cooperation with Lithuanian institutions to strengthen human resources in the customs service.

At the end of the meeting , a video reflecting the activities of “INTA” was also shown  and mutual symbolic gifts were presented.

Afterwards, the guests got acquainted with the newly established language cabinet at the Academy and the auditoriums equipped with modern technical controls.

During a meeting, the Director of the Project Department of “INTA”,  Donatas Limantas had a seminar on "Analysis of images of cargo scanners and recognition of dangerous objects" for customs officers participating in advanced training at the Academy.

Emphasizing the customs control is carried out on the basis of a system of risk analysis, D. Limantas stressed that the application of technical control means is one of the main priority areas . He informed the participants about the analysis of trucks, the principle of operation, capabilities and limitations of X-ray scanners used at customs checkpoints, the analysis of the description of passenger vehicles and other topics.

The trainer answered the questions of the participants in detail.
