An extensive holiday event dedicated to " December 31 Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis" and the “New Year” was held at the Academy of the State Customs Committee and it  was attended by the executives , staff and students of the Academy .

The event started with the national anthem and a minute of silence was observed in memory of our heroic sons who became martyrs for the freedom of our lands. Then, a video was shown reflecting the history of the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis.

The head of the academy, General Major of Customs Service Gulu Novruzov, made an introductory speech .

Speaking about the services of national leader Heydar Aliyev in celebrating this significant date, he mentioned that after the return of the Great Leader to political power in Azerbaijan, the independent Republic of Azerbaijan was the guarantor of the interests of Azerbaijanis around the world anda purposeful work has been started with Azerbaijanis living abroad.

Noting that 2021 was remembered in the history of Azerbaijan with a number of important events, G. Novruzov stated that the unity of the people, army and power played an important role in achieving the glorious victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, which once again declared our unity and solidarity to the world.

The people of Azerbaijan, united on the battlefield, in diplomacy and in the information war, liberated the occupied territories from the enemy by honorably fulfilling their historic mission under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev.

The head of the academy said that the essence, history and value of this significant event are very important for our youth.

He noted that this holiday is of great importance for building unity and solidarity with Azerbaijanis living in different countries

Gulu Novruzov noted that the year we set off was also memorable for the Academy.He spoke in detail about the achievements of the Academy during the year, noting that some of the graduates of the university are currently working in the customs authorities, various structures of the State Customs Committee.

Novruzov expressed his confidence that the Academy will achieve more success in the coming years.

The head of the Academy congratulated the staff, faculty and students of the Academy on the upcoming December 31 - the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the NewYear, and wished them success in the new year.

Then, the students who were distinguished for their high academic performance, special activity in the social life of the Academy, cultural and mass events in 2021 were awarded honorary diplomas and letters of appreciation by the head of the Academy. The winners of the chess tournament held at the Academy were also awarded cups and certificates. The event ended with an artistic part with the participation of students of the Academy.
