Employee of the Customs Academy was awarded the Sustainable Project Manager international certificate

International cooperation and projects coordinator of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, Elvin Mecidov, has been awarded the internationally recognized “Certified Green Project Manager” (CGPM) certificate as a result of the international certification exam of the “GPM Global" organization, which is a world leader in the field of sustainable project management which is located in the United States. This is the first and only “GPM Global” certificate for that program in the field of green and sustainable projects and program management among Azerbaijani customs authorities, and the 4th “GPM Global” certificate in Azerbaijan.

The CGPM certification covers all aspects of sustainability in project and program management, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as the standards and methodologies established by the GPM Global organization in this field. The organization aims to ensure overall sustainability by focusing on environmental, social and economic aspects in the management of projects, programs, and enterprises. Its main framework, the P5™ Standards (“People, Planet, Prosperity, Process, Products”), evaluates the performance of projects and programs based on sustainability criteria. In particular, the primary methodology of the organization PRiSM™ (“Projects integrating Sustainable Methods” - Projects with Sustainable Methods) defines global mechanisms for creating and managing projects with sustainable methods. The CGPM certification also includes PRiSM™ Practitioner status.

The status of an internationally certified sustainable project manager of the employee of the Academy, Elvin Mejidov, once again emphasizes the achievements of Azerbaijan's higher education institutions in sustainable project management and sustainability on the eve of such an important event as the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (“COP 29”), which will be hosted in Azerbaijan in November of this year. In the field of customs service, the CGPM certification is also important for enhancing the capacity to create and manage projects and programs with sustainable methods in customs activities in accordance with the “Green Customs” concept. It should be noted that the international certification exam conducted by the “GPM Global” organization located in the USA is carried out by the “PMO.AZ” company, the official accredited partner of that organization in our country, and the verification of the exam results and the issuance of international certificates are handled by the headquarters of the “GPM Global” organization.
