Employees of the Customs Academy participated in training on the use of "Scopus" and "ScienceDirect" databases
At Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), training was held on "Scopus" and "ScienceDirect" databases of "Elsevier" company, a leading company in academic information databases. In addition to teachers, researchers, and librarians of various higher education institutions, the employees of the Academy of the State Customs Committee (ASCCA) also participated in the training held to expand the possibility of using these academic bases in the country.
First, Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, vice-rector for educational affairs of AzTU, spoke about the significance of training.
Then, Ayhan Saracoglu, regional general manager of "Elsevier" company, provide comprehensive information about Scopus and "ScienceDirect" databases, their scope, potential uses, and innovations applied by both databases, the applications were tested in a real-worl setting, and participants' questions were answered.
It should be noted that, the access to the full-text academic database "Scopus" and "ScienceDirect", the world's largest scientific database, is also provided at the Customs Academy. These databases will support to expand the research facility and facilitate the activities of the professor-teacher staff and students of the academy.
