ASCCA, CBRA Switzerland sign MoU

Academy of State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (ASCCA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and partnership with the Cross-Border Research Association (CBRA) of Switzerland within the framework of the international cooperation activities.

 

CBRA is a research institute that conducts European and global research and projects on various areas of customs service activities, including trade facilitation, cross-border customs cooperation and supply chain security, and carries out close cooperation activities with the World Customs Organization, the European Union and other international organizations.

 

Within the framework of the memorandum signed by Michael Ellis, the manager in global relations and chief expert on law enforcement activities, of CBRA and the head of the Academy, Gulu Novruzov in Baku, mutually beneficial activities were carried out in a number of areas.

 

Conducting research and preparing publications, creating and implementing international grant projects, joint partnership in international consortium projects, capacity building, realization of academic degrees and training programs for the development of human resources in the field of customs are the activities of special importance.

 

It is also noteworthy that CBRA was founded in 2005 at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. It was founded by Yuha Hintsa and later started to operate as an independent institution.

 

The headquarter of the organization is located in the area of ​​Echandens, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland. It is headed by Dr Hintsa. In 2005-2023, the association implemented more than 40 international projects in Europe and the world, more than 100 academic and practical publication activities and carried out research and projects in 14 countries. The organization leads various international projects funded by the EU's "FP7" program and the "Horizon" Research and Innovation Program. The "PEN-CP: European Network of Customs Practitioners" covering 13 countries and 2018-2025, and "CONNECTOR: Customs and European Common Information Sharing Environment" (2023-2025) projects are vitally important.
