Scientific-practical conference was held at the Customs Academy within the framework of the "Green World Solidarity Year".
A scientific-practical conference called "Sustainable development for a green world" was held at the Academy of the State Customs Committee within the "Green World Solidarity Year" framework.
At the beginning of the event, the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our republic was commemorated with a minute of silence and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
The deputy head of the Academy, prof. Jamila Namazova delivered the opening speech at the event, noting that 2024 was declared the "Green World Solidarity Year” in Azerbaijan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in accordance with the strategy of transitioning to a green economy and she emphasized that hosting the COP29 conference by our country this year is an important event. She stated the significance of solving environmental problems and protecting the environment, she also mentioned the importance of educational initiatives related to the development of environmental consciousness and respect for natural and cultural values. Then, Jamila Namazova delivered a report on "Green economy and green finance".
At the conference, the employees and students of the Academy made a presentation on the topics "The role of information technologies in the green world", "Transition to renewable energy sources in the Republic of Azerbaijan”, “A new era in economics: "Formation of green thinking", "Green transport and customs", "Place and basic principles of environmental law in the legal system", "Economic impact of Climate Change: Perspectives from COP29", "Water scarcity and management", etc.
Furthermore, a video on the topic was demonstrated at the event.
