Customs Academy signs MoU with ACOA

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Academy of the State Customs Committee (ASCCA) and  Association of Azerbaijani Cyber Security Organizations (ACOA) . The meeting was attended by the  head of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, the Major-General of the customs service Gulu Novruzov,  the head of the Cyber ​​Security Department of the State Customs Committee (SCC) Turgut Valiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Azerbaijan Cyber ​​Security Organizations Elvin Balajanov, Deputy Chairman of the ACOA Board Rauf Jabarov, the CEO and founder of “Simbrella” company, Seymur Mammadov, and the marketing director of A2Z Technologies Malik Rashidov, as well as , the employees of the Association and the Academy. 

Making an opening speech,the head of the Academy, Gulu Novruzov welcomed the guests and spoke about the importance of cyber security in modern times, and the effective cooperation relations established between the Academy and cyber security companies.

Novruzov also touched upon the important issues mentioned by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev in his speech at the inauguration ceremony regarding the training of the new generation. He pointed out that the main goal of the Academy is to train professional personnel in accordance with the requirements of the labor market by creating an excellent educational environment. Noting the important role of the Information Technologies in the 44-day Patriotic War, Novruzov emphasized the certainty that the cooperation established in this direction will contribute to the development of education in Academy and in Azerbaijan.  

Then, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Azerbaijan Cyber ​​Security Organizations Elvin Balajanov took the floor and informed about the measures taken in the legal, organizational and scientific and technical spheres, as well as the steps taken by the Association in order to strengthen the cyber security ecosystem of our country.

The chairman of ACOA stated that the measures established in the Action Plan of the "Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan on information security and cyber security for 2023-2027", as well as the effective implementation of activities in the field of ensuring the security of critical information infrastructure cause  the rapid expansion of the personnel potential in the country. He noted that the joint activity with the Customs Academy  will be effective for both parties.

Making a speech, the head of the Cyber Security Department of the SCC, Turgut Valiyev, spoke about the importance of cyber security in our modern era. He noted that the Committee has implemented sufficient digital solutions recently, and wished that the established cooperation would be successful for both parties.

Following the speeches, a presentation on "Cyber ​​security personnel training in higher education institutions: problems and prospects" was shown.

The guests who took the floor pointed out that there is a significant increase in the demand for personnel in the field of cyber security in our modern era, and appreciated the expansion of cooperation in this direction in the higher educational institutions that conduct personnel training in cyber security in our country.

Following the discussions, Gulu Novruzov, the head of the Academy of the State Customs Committee (ASCCA) and Elvin Balajanov, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Azerbaijan Cyber Security Organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation.

The Memorandum envisages mutual organization of training and education between the parties, joint activity in the direction of meeting future personnel needs, as well as providing support for the development of  students' knowledge and skills, professional levels, worldviews, and other issues.
