ASCCA students participate in the international competition in Slovenia

Students of the Academy of the State Customs Committee participated in the 8th All-European International Humanitarian and Refugee Law Moot Competition held at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia between November 21-24, 2023. A group consisting of ASCCA students competed among 16 teams in the competition organized in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the Slovenian Red Cross Society, implemented by the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana.

In the three-stage competition, based on the role-play simulations and practical tasks, the teams performed by referring to the relevant rules of international humanitarian law, international refugee law, and international common law.

Following the intense four-day struggle, ASCCA students Mahmud Bayramov, Rail Yagubov, and Aytaj Mammadova, as well as their mentors, the staff member of the Academy Yavar Mammadova and the Academy of the State Customs Committee were awarded certificates.

It is noteworthy that the students had previously won the national competition held by ICRC on international humanitarian that entitled them to represent the country.
