ASCCA hosts an event on the fight against drug addiction
Academy of the State Customs Committee hosted an event entitled "Let's say no to drugs! Let's live healthy!" with the organizational and informational support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations and Azerbaijan Television (AzTV).
The purpose of the event, organized by “Youth League for Intercultural Cooperation” Public Union, was to keep young people away from drugs and bad habits, and involve them in sports.
Shamsaddin Abishov, the chief specialist of the Academy, made an opening speech and welcomed the participants and noted the importance of conducting awareness, propaganda and prevention work in the direction of combating drug addiction. Noting that drug addiction was the painful problem of our time, Abishov called on students to stay away from this worldwide scourge.
Elchin Chobanzada, chairman of “Youth League for Intercultural Cooperation” Public Union, underlined that the fight against drugs was carried out at the state level and his organization regularly took measures in this area. As a result of the successful policy carried out in our country, he particularly emphasized the effective activity of the customs authorities in strengthening the fight against drug smuggling in recent years. Emphasizing that they were in constant contact with state and non-governmental organizations combating drug abuse in our country, the Chairman called on young people to stay away from harmful habits.
Aygun Agabalayeva, the head of Harmony Psychology Center and chief psychologist, provided detailed information about the properties of psychoactive substances, their harmful effects on health, and the stages of drug addiction formation.
Following the event, Adil Heydari, a former drug addict, and now the head coach of the "El-1 sports league", black belt master in karate, took the floor. Heydari, highlighting that the drug addiction was a social problem of the world , spoke about the measures taken in our country to combat drugs. Speaking about the bitter consequences of drug addiction, he urged young people to be careful and stay away from external, harmful influences that lead to addiction and destruction.
The event ended with answering students' questions.
