Academy of the State Customs Committee hosted a seminar dedicated to promoting religious and moral values ​​among young people. Sayavush Heydarov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organisations, Head of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, Major General of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov, Head of the Social Innovation and Analytics Department of the State Customs Committee, Colonel Vugar Aliyev, the employees, students of the academy and the members of the  "Customs Volunteer" participated in the event.

 

First, the memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our republic was commemorated with a minute of silence and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Making an opening speech, the head of the Academy, Major-General of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov greeted the participants and talked about the importance of the seminar.

He noted that the policy of tolerance, which was successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, had a special place in the statehood legacy and political course of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev,and  in our historical victory won thanks to the unity of the people and the army in the 44-day Patriotic War.

 

 Novruzov pointed out that one of the priority areas of the Academy is the development of students' outlook in addition to acquiring fundamental scientific knowledge and possessing national and moral values. At the end of his speech, the speaker called on young people to correctly evaluate radical religious movements, and also to adhere to national and moral values ​​and statehood.

 

Later, the head of the Department of Social Innovations and Analytical Analysis, Vugar Aliyev spoke about the importance of the event and highly appreciated the activity of the Academy in the direction of the formation of young people as patriotic personalities in the national spirit.

 

Emphasizing the importance of education based on good religious knowledge, Aliyev called on all layers of society to be active in preventing harmful propaganda, preserving the environment of tolerance in our country, and educating our youth in the national spirit.

 

Making a speech, the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organisations, Sayavush Heydarov, noted that the traditions of tolerance of our religiously and ethnically rich people have been successfully developed, and the ideology of Azerbaijanism, defined by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, which embodies the unity of representatives of all peoples and religions around common values, has an exceptional role in the progress of our country.

 The speaker emphasized that Azerbaijani citizens belonging to different nations and religions fought shoulder to shoulder in the Patriotic War and demonstrated solidarity around the "Iron Fist" as a logical result of the successful state policy implemented in this direction.

 

The speaker also informed the youth about traditional Islamic values, radical religious trends and the threats they pose to national security.

Following the event, Sayavush Heydarov presented his book "Religion and Ideological Security" to the library of the Academy.

In the end, Gulu Novruzov expressed his gratitude to  Sayavush Heydarov on behalf of the State Customs Committee and the staff of the Academy for accepting the invitation, visiting the academy and his very informative speech.
