ASCCA honors March 31 Genocide victims

Academy of State Customs Committee hosted an event dedicated to  March 31 - Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis. The event was attended by the executives, staff, and students of the Academy.

 First, the memory of the victims of the genocide, as well as all the martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our republic was commemorated with a minute of silence and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sounded. Then a video was shown reflecting the realities of the March 31 genocide.

In his introductory speech, the head of the Academy, Major General of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov greeted the participants and noted that the 105th anniversary of the March 31 genocide was one of the bloodiest tragedies not only in the history of Azerbaijan but also in human history.

Taking a brief look at the history of the genocide, the head of the Academy stressed that political assessment of the genocide was related to the name of  national leader Heydar Aliyev. Novruzov noted that historical justice was restored as a result of  great victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War thanks to Supreme Commander-in-Chief and invincible Azerbaijani soldier.  At the end of his speech, Gulu Novruzov asked God to have mercy on all   the victims of the genocide and  our compatriots who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of our country. 

Speaking at the event, the teacher of the Academy, Doctor of philosophy, Samir Hasanov reviewed the history of the March genocide and talked about the essence of the genocide policy. Speaking about the acts of genocide committed against our people by Armenian aggressors in March-April 1918, the historian brought to the attention of the event participants the information about the Armenian terror and atrocities committed in our various regions. The speaker advised the youth to study deeply the tragedies that befell the people of Azerbaijan, the glorious past of our nation, and emphasized the importance of passing on a history full of victories to future generations.

Later, the student of the Academy made a  speech on the topic "Description of March 31 Genocide” . An article, on the insidious policy of Armenians, published in "Azerbaijan" newspaper, during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic - "It's time to be clever" was sounded at the event.
