ASCCA Holds Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2026
The Academy of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (ASCCA) held its Graduation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic year. The event was attended by the leadership of the State Customs Committee and ASCCA, members of the Milli Majlis Sevinj Fataliyeva and Bahruz Maharramov, senior representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court, the Sabunchu District Executive Authority, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association, the Azerbaijan Association of Customs Representatives and Logistics Companies, the Public Council under the State Customs Committee, the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations' Union (ASYOU), Coders Azerbaijan, 166 Transportation and Logistics, as well as families of martyrs, war veterans, ASCCA faculty members, and students.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Colonel-General of the Customs Service Shahin Baghirov, emphasized that the well-planned and purposeful policy in the fields of science and education, founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, has created favorable conditions for educating young people as knowledgeable, highly qualified professionals. He noted that the successful continuation of this policy by President Ilham Aliyev, together with the large-scale initiatives implemented under the leadership of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, has created broad opportunities for raising a healthy, patriotic, and highly educated young generation.
The participants also noted with satisfaction ASCCA's achievements in preparing highly qualified professionals who meet the requirements of the modern era, as well as the opportunities created for students. It was emphasized that, within a short period, ASCCA has become one of the country's prestigious higher education institutions.
Head of ASCCA, Major General of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov, members of the Milli Majlis Sevinj Fataliyeva and Bahruz Maharramov, Turkhan Suleyman, Head of the Department of Science, Higher and Vocational Education of the Ministry of Science and Education, and Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, spoke about the state's continuous support for education and emphasized that the modern learning environment and outstanding achievements at the Academy are clear examples of the successful implementation of this policy. They also wished the graduates success in their future careers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Khalida Niftaliyeva, mother of National Hero and martyr Mehrab Niftaliyev, congratulated the graduates and wished them determination and success in contributing to the development of a country that has fully restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Firangiz Shahbazova, parent of ASCCA graduate Iman Mikayilov, congratulated the graduates and, on behalf of all parents, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the State Customs Committee and the Academy for their attention and support.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Laman Alijanova, the Academy's top graduate, expressed her gratitude to the Academy's leadership and faculty members for the knowledge and experience she had gained during her studies and congratulated her fellow graduates on this memorable occasion.
The ceremony continued with the presentation of awards to the Academy's top graduate and the top graduates of each specialization in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements, followed by the presentation of graduation certificates.
The event concluded with a cultural performance by ASCCA students.
During the 2025/2026 academic year, 134 students graduated from the bachelor's programmes and 8 students completed the master's programmes.
