A mini-hackathon “Smart City Lab: Build the City of Tomorrow” was held by the Student Youth Organization as part of the “Year of Urban Development and Architecture,” in connection with the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). The event, held with the participation of the staff and students of the academy, was primarily aimed at developing the innovative thinking skills of young people and supporting their vision for the future of cities.

Speaking at the event , Islam Huseynov, Head of the Department of Educational and Methodological Work; Elvin Alirzaev, Ph.D, Associate Professor; Head of the “Customs Affairs and Management” Department, and an employee of the Academy, PhD candidate Shabnam Nuriyeva wished the participants success, emphasizing that such initiatives play a crucial role in the professional development of young people and the formation of their creative approaches.

As part of the mini-hackathon, participants presented innovative and practical solutions focused on the future of cities. The projects, which combined technology, sustainable development, and smart city approaches, were highly praised by the jury.

At the end of the intense and exciting competition, the Venice team was awarded 1st place, the Mumbai team 2nd place, and the Seoul team 3rd place.
