The “RoadRunners” team, captained by Mirmahammad Mansimov, a third-year Information Technology student at the Academy of the State Customs Committee (ASCCA), has won first place at the Azerbaijan Regional Championship of the Fibonacci International Robot Olympiad, held in Baku.

Mentored by Asif Qanbayev, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Technologies and Technical Sciences, the team secured the 1st place in the “Fastest Line Follower” category for university students. With this victory, the team earned qualification for the Eurasia Championship, which will be held in Turkey and bring together participants from 21 countries.

On this occasion, the Head of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, Major General of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov, met with the winning student, expressed his gratitude for honoring the Academy’s trust, and congratulated him on his outstanding accomplishment.

It should be noted that more than 100 teams competed across multiple categories in the Olympiad. In the “Fastest Line Follower” category, teams were required to design and build their own robots, which then had to autonomously follow a black line on a designated course using sensors and complete the route. Our student's team completed the challenge flawlessly in 20.63 seconds, recording the fastest time in the category.
