ASCCA Student’s Team Reaches Final Stage of the National Space Hackathon
The team, led by Mirmammad Mansimov, a third-year student majoring in Information Technology at the Academy of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (ASCCA), was selected from among 150 teams and advanced to the final stage of the National Space Hackathon, held for the first time in Azerbaijan at the Azerbaijan Innovation Center and organized by Azercosmos.
The team presented a project titled “SatWater,” an automated irrigation system based on satellite data. The project was highly rated for its functionality and application potential and was ranked among the top ten.
In recognition of this achievement, the team received direct admission to the “Vistar” acceleration program of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). Within the seven-week program, the project will be further developed and presented to investors.
Only 15 out of 150 teams reached the final stage of the hackathon, which aims to bring together young people in the fields of space and innovation, support the development of innovative solutions, and encourage interest in space entrepreneurship.
