ASCCA represents in International seminar held in Korea
The Academy of the State Customs Committee was represented at the "29th CHRDI Seminar on Customs Capacity Enhancement of Customs Officials" held on October 21-28, 2024 in Cheonan and Seoul, the capital of Korea.
The event was organized by the Customs Human Resource Development Institute (CHRDI) of the Korea Customs Service, which has the status of the Regional Training Center (RTC) of the World Customs Organization for the Asia-Pacific region. The Academy of the State Customs Committee was represented by Elvin Mejidov, coordinator of international cooperation and projects of the Academy, and Yavar Mammadova, senior specialist of the department of Additional Professional Education.
At the official opening of the CHRDI seminar, the general director of CHRDI, Mrs. prof. Sun Hee noted that the main goal of the seminar is to share the best practices of the Korean Customs Service and strengthen cooperation between professionals from different countries.
At the event, 18 representatives from Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, North Macedonia, Botswana, Cameroon, Madagascar and Nigeria presented "SWOT" analyzes of the customs activities of their countries. Representing our country, Elvin Mejidov, made a presentation on Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs), and Yavar Mammadova made a "SWOT" presentation on "Training on illegal drug trafficking".
Elvin Mejidov distinguished himself with the "SWOT" presentation entitled "Authorized Economic Operators in the Republic of Azerbaijan: Current Situation and Future Challenges" and was awarded the title of "Recognition of Outstanding Achievements and Best Country Report Presenter" and was awarded with a special certificate.
At the seminar, Korean experts provided the participants with rich knowledge and experience on "UNI-PASS" and Single Window platform, Korean AEO system and global AEO trends, risk management, harmonic system (HS) and HS classification, e-commerce and other topics. At the same time, seminar participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the history, heritage and culture of Korea.
At the end, the participants were awarded certificates by Mrs. professor Yoo Sun Hee , the General director of CHRDI.
It is to be noted that on the basis of the bilateral cooperation agreement signed between ASCCA and CHRDI in December 2020, close cooperation is being implemented between the two institutions in the field of customs potential development. Within the framework of this cooperation, employees of the customs service of Azerbaijan participate in various events of CHRDI in Korea. The mentioned actions serve to further develop the potential of the customs personnel of our country and strengthen international cooperation.
